At Wyndyarra Estate we offer professional Horse starting both under saddle and to harness. Gary and Rebecca are experienced in this area with Gary being an International Competitor EA Coach and Coach Educator he has many years experience in starting his own young horses and training to international standard.
For many years we have been breeding and breaking in or "starting" which sounds better than breaking our young horses. We understand very well that all horses are individual and cater our training to meet the horse and where he is at. You can see most of our past young horses who were all started personally by us on our testimonials page and our
satisfied clients. Rembrandt the AndalusianX now in WA is working with his owner sucessfully under Philip Karl in classical dressage demonstrations.
We have also started many other peoples horses in the past and had some that had only had human contact when they were branded, naturally these horses were most mistrusting. Although some have been challenging due to their past experiences with humans all have gone on to find loving pleasure and competition homes.
We understand the psychology of the horse and use gentle logical training methods also our private horses are sweet and calm natured which helps when working with the more nervous types. Our schoolmaster Casey a 16.1 Friesian Paint pictured here right is used to train the young horses to harness and saddle and leads by calm and serene example. He is a most versatile mount also doing dressage, harness, starting young stock, jumping trail he has even been used as a jousting mount and our 7 year old son can also sit on and have a ride.
Case Study Windward Monsoon Warmblood. Mo as he was known came to us unbroken and relatively unhandled he was taken through all the basics of course learn to be caught and handled, lead, tie up, pick up his feet. Then he progressed to being lunged, double lunged and then backed. The last stage was to start him in harness of which you can see Casey helping out here keeping Mo calm and quiet. He was sold last year to Singapore as a carriage horse they occasionally also compete in dressage with him also. He was started correctly and is now a very much loved and versatile horse.
